Teacher ‘made underage student crawl on floor to hide romps from CCTV’

A former school teacher is alleged to have gone to extreme lengths to hide her sex romps with a male student, including making him crawl under her security cameras.

Police in Zachary, Louisiana, said 34-year-old Ellarea Silva is accused of sexual misconduct with the underage pupil.

Authorities at Northwestern Middle School say she is no longer employed by Zachary Community School District (ZCSD).

An email from ZCSD Superintendent, Scott Devillier read: "Ellarea Silva is no longer an employee of the district."

According to court documents, the teacher began a relationship with the 15-year-old student last year.

The victim's mother obtained evidence of the relationship and handed it over to police two days later.

"She didn't want to go out and accuse a professional teacher of any wrongdoing unless there was evidence there," Zachary Police Chief David McDavid told news channel WGNO.

Silva was placed on leave on January 24 and later arrested on February 6.

After paying out her $225,000 (£173,895) bond six days later, she left jail.

Now court documents have revealed the extend Silva allegedly went to hide the relationship.

She is reported to have set up a private email account so the pair could sext each other.

They allegedly crawled on the ground around the house to avoid being seen on a security camera at her house.

Other measures included having the student's passenger seat leaned all the way back when arriving at Silva's home in an effort to keep him out of the view of the CCTV cameras.

After being placed on administrative leave, Silva allegedly asked a co-worker to remove items from her classroom which could be used as evidence.

She faces multiple charges including sexual battery, carnal knowledge of a juvenile, indecent behaviour with a juvenile, and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.

It was previously reported Silva had oral sex with the student around nine times while her own child was in the house.

At one stage, she allegedly gave the teen a pink e-cigarette which may have contained THC — the key ingredient in cannabis.

She is accused of sending nude photographs and videos of herself to the pupil but deliberately kept her face out of the photos.
