Stray kitten looks like it has a moustache and goatee thanks to cute markings

A stray cat with what looks like a moustache and goatee thanks to its adorable markings has gone viral.

Nampeung Rodruengkhun, 43, first saw the unusual-looking feline at a Buddhist temple in the Ratchaburi province of Thailand.

The poor kitten was trying to escape from four dogs but thankfully was saved by Nampeung and her young daughter.

And they soon realised there was something special about the cat.

Footage shows how it has unique markings around its mouth that gives the impression of having facial hair.

Its bottom marking also appears to be in the shape of a heart.

The markings were so bizarre Nampeung initially believed that they were painted by someone.

The mum and daughter decided to rescue the cat and named it Jaokongkwan, which means “gift” in the local language.

Nampeung posted the cat's picture on an internet pet fan page and viewers were amazed at its distinguishing features.

She said: “Our cat has a heart-shaped beard which made her even more special. We found her on a lucky day as well.

“My friends called the kitten 'Lung Gammnan' or Uncle Village Leader because of the moustache which made her look like an old village headman.”

The two-month-old cat now lives with its new family who owns a noodle shop along with another 10 adopted cats.

Jaokongkwan isn’t the only stray cat to have gone viral in the past thanks to its facial features.

A kitten with a tiny cat mark on its face recently became a internet superstar after pictures emerged online.

The Twitter post was shared thousands of times and sparked a flurry of comments from amazed fans.

One wrote: "The greatest thing I've ever seen!”

Translated from Chinese, a third said: "So cute! They look like strays. I hope they are taken care of and get spayed/neutered. It would be great if they could find homes."
