A period of royal mourning will be observed from now until seven days after the Queen’s funeral, the date of which will be confirmed in due course, Buckingham Palace said.

The news comes following the announcement of the death of Queen Elizabeth yesterday, September 8 2022.

The official period of national mourning is set to last 12 days, which was triggered following the news of her passing.

Across the country, Union Jacks are going to be flown at half mast and embassies around the world will be putting out books of condolence meaning people from across the globe will be able to pay their respects.
