A serial sex beast who planned to have a baby so he could rape it, turned to bestiality as it was "something different", a court heard on Wednesday.
Sick porn addict and catfish sex offender Robert McNab had committed a string of vile crimes before being found with the illegal extreme pornography last year, the Daily Record reports.
McNab – also known as Robert Altman – was previously convicted for abusing a young girl and conspiring to impregnate a stranger to satisfy his warped desires.
Being locked up for possessing images of abused babies did not stop the paedophile from downloading vile content on his first day of freedom from prison, Greenock Sheriff Court heard.
McNab poses such a threat to the public that he was already on the Sex Offenders' Register for life but kept his sickening stash hidden from police officers and social workers, keeping tabs on him.
But a cleaner found the mobile stashed in his bedding and handed it to cops, leading to the case against him.
And a court heard on Wednesday that he spends his life watching online porn and turned to bestiality images in a bid to stop him from looking at images of children being sexually abused.
He had earlier pleaded guilty to charges of possessing "extreme pornographic images" – showing "sexual activity between a person and an animal" – and breaking a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) by using a mobile he had not told the authorities about.

The 579 images had been downloaded between May 7 and 22, 2020, on a phone hidden under a pillow in his homeless flat in Greenock, Inverclyde.
Defence solicitor Gerry Keenan told Sheriff Joseph Hughes: "He says he was attempting to suppress his inclination towards the type of behaviour your Lordship sees in his previous convictions.
"It was designed to avoid the type of criminal activity that led to his incarceration previously.
"He didn't look at any types of indecent images referred to in his previous convictions – this was something different.
"It is described as an attempt to suppress that inclination."
Keenan said McNab was sorry for his actions and described him as a loner who was himself abused between the age of six and nine.
He added: "He finds it difficult to subsist in the community and, as a result of that, he sought solace in the online community. He often feels isolated and spends most of his time at home, accessing pornography and speaking to individuals online."
McNab will be sentenced for the crimes later.
In 2017, as he caged McNab for hoarding child abuse images for nearly a decade and sharing them online with other perverts, Sheriff Derek Hamilton said: "You discussed your desire to have a baby with a complete stranger and then to rape the child.
"That is a particularly awful offence."
