North Korea has launched a "suspected ballistic missile" towards the Sea of Japan.
The launch has been confirmed by both Japan's Prime Minister's office and South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The news comes just hours before American Vice President Kamala Harris is set to visit the Korean Peninsula.
According to South Korean news site Yonhap, military authorities are analysing the launch to work out what sort of missile has been tested.
The news comes just three days after Kim Jong-un fired a short-range ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan.
That launch was the hermit nation's 32nd of 2022, which has been a record year in that regard.
