The unidentified projectile was launched into the East Sea on Tuesday, reports have found.
The latest projectile firing comes after both North and South Korea conducted a ballistic missile test on September 15, just hours apart from each other.
The North fired two ballistic missiles across its East coast, which was the first test of such missiles in six months.
