Four people have reportedly been stabbed in Bishopsgate, London this morning (Thursday, October 6).
Police have cordoned off the area near Liverpool Street Station, with the London Ambulance Service also at the scene.
A City of London Police spokesperson said: "We are aware of an incident this morning on #Bishopsgate. Our officers are at the scene and @Ldn_Ambulance are in attendance. A cordon is currently in place."
Taking to Twitter, one witness said they saw "four badly injured people on the side of the road by #bishopsgate."
Witnesses also say that they believe someone was trying to steal a bike when a fight broke out, leading to people getting injured. This has not yet been confirmed by police or the ambulance service.
According to another witness on Twitter, the incident occurred roughly 200m away from the City of London Police Station in Bishopsgate.
They wrote: "Where were those officers when it was happening not 200m from the City Police station. Incident went on for about 2 minutes with people expecting you to come. You should have got there before people were injured and the perpetrators got away. Shameful."
One person who witnessed the incident told MyLondon: "I saw it from a bus. There was a fair amount of blood visible but the casualties were behind a white screen. Lots of paramedics over someone on the floor. That is all I saw."

Meanwhile, another person who saw the aftermath told MyLondon: "I drove past it, and saw four people injured. City of London Police told me four people were randomly stabbed. At the time roads were still open – didn’t really look to see if there was blood everywhere, but I’m assuming so."
Another person has said their office, which is around the corner from the crime scene, has been locked down with people unable to leave.
