As Britain’s sweltering heatwave comes to a welcome end, a milkman has been forced to share some advice about how to deal with milk deliveries in warm weather.
Wigan milkie Craig says that some of his customers had phoned him up to complain about the temperature of the milk he had left for them.
"The milk wasn't hot”, he says. “It just wasn't cold enough”.
He added that he often received complaints about the produce he leaves on customers’ steps, reports the Liverpool Echo.
“From 'My eggs are wet' when it's raining to 'the bread is hard' when it's minus two degrees,” there are all sorts of gripes, he says.
Craig, 36, has sent a message to his customers including some useful advice on how to keep the milk cold while it was on the doorstep.
The helpful milkman also posted photographs of the measures that have been taken by some of his customers.
The social media post read: "I can't control the weather folks.
"So ringing me up to make an official complaint that your milk "wasn't cold enough" when you took it in at 9am this morning will not be entertained."
"It's 4 million degrees outside," Craig added.
"It was still 1 million degrees at 4am this morning, every fan in the country has been bought, nobody can sleep, the sales of ice pops are at an all time high, and the tarmac is melting.
"However, because I'm a nice bloke and it seems common sense has been lost during this heatwave, so here are my top 3 tips.
"1. Change to glass. It stays colder for longer in a glass bottle (I have no scientific proof of this, but when I'm handling the bottles in a morning the glass bottles always feel colder than the plastic)."

Craig's advice goes on: "2. Dig out that cool box you stuffed under the stairs and stick by the front door, then go and have a rummage in the bottom drawer of your freezer behind the frozen peas and that piece of chicken you threw in there 4 years ago and grab them ice packs………. put 2 and 2 together and hey presto.
"3. If you've not got a cool box…….. find an old vase/tub/container and half fill it with water. I'll stand your full bottle in it when I get there.
"I've added some pics in case people get confused. These pics are from customers houses that put them out year after year. I don't ask them to do it, they just appear because "ITS WARM". So naturally I put their order inside."
Finally, he adds: "Do not put your empties in the coolbox/container or bottle carriers, stand them on the floor please.
"Sorry if this comes across a bit rude but this is the second "complaint" I've had this week regarding "the weather". The first lady complained I was leaving her milk in the sun. It's dark people when I'm delivering the milk, the sun isn't up."
The warm spell is set to last this week although some rain is predicted for Saturday.
