Killer who targeted boy because he was white has ‘throat slit by other prisoner’

A notorious murderer has had his throat slit in jail by another prisoner, according to a source on the inside.

Race-hate killer Imran 'Baldy' Shahid was sentenced to 25 years behind bars after murdering a kidnapped teenager because he was white and from a certain area.

A source at HMP Grampian in Peterhead, Scotland, has told the Daily Record that Shahid suffered a slashed neck on Sunday (February 13).

The 45-year-old was rushed to hospital for treatment but the authorities have not commented on what injuries were sustained.

A prison insider said: "The inmate nicknamed Baldy, the guy that killed Kris [sic] Donald, has got a slashed throat."

Police on Monday confirmed the incident to the Record.

Officers were made aware of a 45-year-old man found injured inside the clink just before 5pm on Sunday. That man was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The nature of his injuries and current medical condition were not disclosed. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known.

Shahid was one of the monsters who brutally murdered 15-year-old Kriss Donald in 2004.

Schoolboy Kriss was abducted by five men from Kenmure Street in Glasgow's southside on March 15, 2004.

The thugs were associated with a local British Pakistani gang led by Shahid.

The kidnapping was cited as apparent revenge for an attack on Shahid at a nightclub in Glasgow city centre the night before by a local white gang.

Teenager Kriss was targeted as an example of a 'white boy from the McCulloch Street area' despite having no involvement in the nightclub attack or in any gang warfare.

He was taken on a 200-mile journey to Dundee and back while his kidnappers made phone calls looking for a house to take him to. With no luck they returned to Glasgow and took him to the Clyde Walkway.

There, they held his arms and stabbed him 13 times.

He sustained internal injuries to three arteries, one of his lungs, his liver and a kidney before being doused in petrol and set on fire as he bled to death.

Shahid had served two previous jail terms for serious violence and was freed just three months before Kriss’s murder.

A Scottish Prison Service (SPS) spokeswoman told the Record: "We do not comment on individual cases."

Police said they are 'liaising with' SPS chiefs.

A force spokesman told the Record: “We were made aware of a man, 45, found injured within HMP Grampian in Peterhead around 4.55pm on Sunday, February 13.

“The man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and officers are liaising with the Scottish Prison Service.”
