Former cop open fires on pre school leaving at least 28 shot and stabbed

At least 28 people, including several children, have been killed in a shooting and knife attack.

The horrifying incident happened at a pre-school in Nong Bua Lamphu in Thailand.

Police officials confirmed that the attacker, who shot and stabbed young children, and adults, was on the run – but it is now being reported that former Police Lieutenant Panya Khamrab, 34, killed himself after taking the lives of his own wife and children.

He was thought to have three children.

No motive has been revealed for the attack, which saw the gunman open fire at the school.

At least 28 people were slaughter in the horror attack, and according to local news reports dozens of bodies covered in blood were scattered across the floor and in the grounds outside the Child Care Center Uthai Sawan Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Nong Bua Lam Phu province in the far north of the country.

The shooter fled the scene, which started at 9am UK time, shortly after the rampage in a white Toyota pickup truck.

Social media video from the scene outside then pre-school shows screaming and crying adults, while emergency services were on-hand to deal with the aftermath.

According to Matichon News; "He used to serve at the Na Wang Police Station, Nong Bua Bamphu Province. have drug-related behavior Arrested with methamphetamine and Nong Bua Lamphu province has been ordered to retire from government service."

He had, local news outlets report, been sacked from the police for failing a drugs test and was due to appear in court tomorrow on drug trafficking charges.

A local woman on Twitter, known as Thai Talk, posted: "My heart goes out to all families affected by the mass shooting today. "No words for this tragedy.

"As a mother, I can’ t fathom the pain parents of child victims are going through right now."
