Facebook has shut down one of its offices after a worker was struck down with coronavirus.
The employee, who worked at the company's Stadium East office in Seattle, USA, was last at work on February 21.
Facebook has since alerted its employees and announced that the office will be closed to all workers until Monday.
In a statement, a Facebook spokesman said: “A contractor based in our Stadium East office has been diagnosed with the COVID-19.
“We’ve notified our employees and are following the advice of public health officials to prioritize everyone’s health and safety.”
The social media giant employs 5,000 people in the Seattle area and is encouraging all its workers in the region to work from home for the rest of the month.
Seattle has become the worst-hit area of the US as coronavirus spreads – officials are recommending that people over 60 remain in their homes and that all gatherings of 10 or more people should be cancelled.
