Emotional King Charles fights back tears listening to Queen tributes

King Charles III has left royal fans heartbroken as he appeared 'close to tears' while listening to tributes to the Queen in Westminister.

The new monarch was seen with tearful eyes as he sat in Westminster Hall to receive messages of condolence following the death of his mother.

His Majesty, accompanied by his Queen Consort, had watery, red eyes in a close-up shot as Baron McFall of Alcluith made a moving speech about the 70-year-reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

Viewers found it difficult to watch as they felt heartbroken for him and took to Twitter to express their condolences.

One user said: "Can't watch this seeing #KingCharles close to tears is too much."

Another added: "I really don’t know how King Charles is managing to carry on with all these duties without bursting into tears, he really needs a break."
