Billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk has waded in to give his thoughts on the Liz Truss vs Lettuce, revealing his love for the mighty Daily Star.

As readers will no doubt know, a wilting lettuce with googly eyes and legs stolen from Mr. Potato Head has outlasted that of ex-Prime Minister Liz Truss.

Truss tendered her resignation outside of No. 10 as Cool and the Gang spewed out of a livestream, showcasing the head of lettuce celebrating a political victory like no other.

It appears the lettuce has tickled the fancy of the SpaceX founder, who publicly expressed how "good" it really was on Twitter.

Displaying his love for Daily Star in, of all places, a reply to that of Russia's deputy security council head, Dmitry Medvedev, who had tweeted: "Bye, bye @liztruss, congrats to lettuce."

His tweet received tens of thousands of likes and retweets, as did Musk, who replied: "Pretty good troll tbh".

Just eight minutes later, it appeared Musk was mocking the Russian leader as well, asking "how's it going in Bakhmut?" the region of Ukraine that has seen a heavy upheaval in Russian war efforts.

Writer Furquan Akhtar, comedian Brian "Limmy" Limond, and The Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess all made reference to the political downfall of Truss, and the leafy legend that did her in.

One Sky News reporter last night said they would be there to "congratulate the lettuce" as well as the issue of "another Tory leadership bid".
