A close friend of Princess Diana has insisted the late princess would have found a way to reconcile warring William and Harry.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, former politician and bestselling author Lord Jeffrey Archer said the Diana of today would have been a 61-year-old “wise woman” and would have advised her sons to come together.
Lord Archer said: ‘If she’d [Diana] lived she would have been 61 now. A wise woman. And heaven knows, she would have wanted to help and advise her sons, to bring them together again.

“It’s what she would have wished for most of all. I’ve no doubt at all about that.’”
An emotional Jeffrey lamented on his friendship with the Princess and her “distress” over her sons feuding if she was alive today.
He speculated that had she been alive Diana would have reconciled her boys offering them advice and counsel, bringing Prince William and Harry together once again to stand as a united front.
He said: "Diana would have been absolutely heartbroken about the rift between the Princes, but if anyone could have brought them together it would have been her. There was an inch of cunning about her.
"She would have found a way. She’d have wanted to help; no doubt about that.

In Jeffrey’s recollection, his friendship with Princess Diana which began in 1991 at a charity concert was, “affectionate, jokey, conspiratorial".
Over the years they were friends he claims that she relied on his counsel and he was entertaining company.
He further speculates about whether Prince Harry will remain in self imposed exile in California adding: “I’d be surprised if he’d be happy to spend the next 60 years in California.”
