A relaxing of coronavirus lockdown restrictions is being discussed in Belgium which could see gatherings of up to 10 people allowed on weekends – the only catch being it would have to include the same people every week.
An expert panel has been appointed to draw up an exit strategy according to documents leaked to news website RTBF.
The memo is purely advisory and will be discussed by the country’s National Security Council on Friday.
Other coronavirus lockdown easing could include a 4 May reopening of shops and businesses, followed by a partial return to school from 18 May.
Remote working would remain in place, but some non-essential services could be allowed to return to work, such as construction, car mechanics, bike repair shops, and firms supplying material for the manufacturing of masks.
If the recommendations are adopted, nursery schools would remain closed until after the summer holidays and primary schools would return on a part time basis.
It has been suggested that parks and playgrounds should reopen, as well as outdoor sports facilities including fishing lakes, golf courses and tennis clubs.
