Church staff ‘cleanse’ altar with Holy Water after couple have sex in place of worship

Staff at the church had to use holy water in order to clean the area following the couple’s raunchy encounter. The X-rated film was shot at Sint-Michielskerk Church in the city of Bree.

This specific House of the Lord is located in the north-eastern Belgian province of Limburg.

The video captured the couple having sex behind the church altar, where priests and people alike would stand to deliver their mass.

It is not known who filmed the act, but the video began doing the rounds on WhatsApp and quickly spread.

With it being a publicly accessible building, it allowed the couple easy entry into the place where the video was made.

But the act from the couple has now become a criminal matter.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, with it being described as pornography in a public place and dissemination of the images.

Bree mayor Liesbeth Van der Auwera said: “The police have announced that a double report has officially been drawn up.”

Sint-Michielskerk Church spokesperson Ernest Essers said the couple’s video “exceeded all boundaries of decency, respect, and fairness”.

Mr Essers added: “We want to handle this discreetly, but of course we want it to be followed up.

“This has overwhelmed us.

“This is public defamation.

“We are going to file a complaint with the police.

“Due to the extended All Saints weekend, this would have happened on Wednesday (October 27).”
