The UK’s balmy weather is set to turn humid according to the BBC weather charts with winds set to lock in moisture amid the heatwave. Despite a weather front threatening to end Britain’s recent spell of tropical sunshine, high pressure is set to keep the worst of the conditions at bay. Carole Kirkwood warned BBC Breakfast hosts Louse Minchin and Dan Walker temperatures are set to remain high with peaks hitting 25 degrees later in the week.
Ms Kirkwood told BBC Breakfast: “One thing you will notice is it is going to feel humid.
“Temperatures up to about 25 degrees in the south.
“15 in the north and that humidity is going to stay with us through Thursday and Friday.”
“Look at that, quite something,” remarked host Louise Minchin.

Discussing the forecast for Monday Ms Kirkwood said: “One way or another it is not a cold day or a cold start to the day for most.
“Expect for in Exeter, if you just stepping out you will need to wrap up first thing.
“Now the forecast today sets off on a cloudy note there are a few showers, we will see further showers develop throughout the day.
“Particularly in the north and the east could breaking up allowing some sunshine to develop.”
BBC Breakfast: Roger apologises for ‘anticipating’ weather forecast
Gesturing to a new weather front moving in across the Atlantic the metrologist said: “Look at this great big lump of cloud.
“This is a weather front and it is coming our way.
“But is it not going to make huge amounts of progress because it is bumping into an area of high pressure.
“So eventually it will introduce some cloud and eventually in the next couple of days it will bring in some rain with it as well.”

“So we are starting off on a cloudy note, the cloud along the coast of the south-east of England won’t clear until the afternoon.
“The low-cloud and fog moving across the northeast of Scotland will be with us for much of the day.
“We will see further showers develop across parts of the south-east but many of us will miss them altogether.
“And for much of England and also Wales if you ignore those showers it is going to be dry with some sunshine developing.”
