Boris Johnson told a Downing Street press conference on Tuesday that the Government’s guidance on social mixing this Christmas “remains the same.” The Prime Minister was challenged over the latest coronavirus guidance for Britons this Christmas after one of the Government’s medical advisors suggested on the BBC that people should begin to limit the number of contacts they have.
The Prime Minister told the briefing: “The guidance remained the same.
He added: “We’re bringing in some tougher measures to stop the rapid seeding of Omicron in this country to give us the time we need to get the boosters in and of course to find out more.
“Those measures as you know, the tough matters of the borders the PCR test, when you arrive quarantine until you’ve got a negative result.
“Then, tougher measures on masks and then making sure that contacts for anybody, anybody who comes into contact with an Omicron a case also has to quarantine, we think that’s the right balance. You and we will keep it of course under constant review.”
